Allonais inaequalis: Comments
Comment:
This taxon was originally described as Nais inaequalis by Stephenson (1911). In their review of specimens previously collected from North American habitats and identified as Allonais paraguayensis and other taxa in this genus, Kathman and Wetzel (2003) determined that specimens previously thought to be Allonais paraguayensis had in fact been misidentified, and thus this species is not yet known to occur in North America; in this same paper Kathman and Wetzel reported the first records of Allonais inaequalis in North America from sites in New Jersey and Ohio
