Boubli et al.'s 2008 taxonomy was contested by Ferrari et al. (2014), but at a Red Listing Workshop held in January 2014 Boubli convincingly defended the 2008 taxonomy and a decision was made by the Primate Specialist Group to maintain it (Antony Rylands, pers. comm., 20 July 2015)
