Comments: A large species, similar in size to C. callosus and C. expulsus but morphometrically and karyotypically (2n = 46, FN = 66) well differentiated from those species and from C. tener (Bonvicino et al., 2003c). The new form was first detected based on its distinctive karyotype (Lima and Kasahara, 2001)
