Unresolved secondary homonymy is shown by Platnick (2012, online World Spider Catalog v12.5), where both Castianeira dubia (O. P.-Cambridge, 1898) and Castianeira dubia Mello-Leitão, 1922 are listed as valid species. The latter is a junior secondary homonym and includes the comment 'if congeneric with [Castianeira dubia (O. P.-Cambridge, 1898)], a replacement name will be needed'
