Comments: Ellerman and Morrison-Scott (1951) and Corbet (1978c) listed gotschobi and lghesicus as synonyms of nivalis, but Pavlinov and Rossolimo (1987, 1998) and Pavlinov et al. (1995a) included them in C. gud. Dental traits indicate a closer relationship to C. roberti than to C. nivalis (Nadachowski, 1991). In Turkey, the species has been collected at the same localities as C. nivalis but prefers more mesic habitats (Krystufek, 1999c)
