Some nomenclatural issues are apparently not yet resolved: Soreng (personal communications, November 2010) notes that an older basionym (Arundo egmontiana Roem. & Schult. [1817]) is applicable to the species known in Linder et al. (2010:343) as Cortaderia pilosa (d'Urv.) Hack. If this is the case then the new accepted combination would need to be published, along with those for any infraspecific taxa, such as the varieties recognized by Linder et al. (2010:343)
