Comments: Heim de Balsac and Meester (1977) included ebriensis, ingoldbyi and jouvenetae in crossei, which was followed by Hutterer (1993a). However, jouvenetae and ebriensis represent much larger animals than crossei and ingoldbyi. The exact ranges of both species remain to be determined, but both forms occur almost sympatrically from Guinea to Côte d'Ivoire. C. ebriensis was listed as a separate species by Maddalena and Ruedi (1994), Wolsan and Hutterer (1998), and Schlitter et al. (1999), but jouv...
