Comments: A small-bodied, dark-furred terrestrial insectivore recorded by only three specimens. Morphologically very distinct from Philippine species of Crunomys, and without close relatives on Sulawesi except for possibly Sommeromys, another Sulawesian endemic (Musser, 1982c; Musser and Durden, 2002).
