Megachile aterrima Smith, 1861 (TSN 761063) is a senior primary homonym of Megachile aterrima (Pérez, 1895) (now as Megachile nigrita Radoszkowski, 1876 (TSN 761874)) and a junior primary homonym of Ceraplastes aterrima (Panzer, 1798), Gymnus aterrima (Panzer, 1789), Gyrodroma aterrima (Panzer, 1798), Stelis aterrima (Panzer, 1798), and Trachusa aterrima (Panzer, 1798), all subsequent combinations of Apis aterrima Panzer, 1798 (now as Stelis punctulatissima (Kirby, 1802))
