Pelham (2008:431) notes of Mestra dorcas (Fabricius, 1775), "Listed as a synonym of Mestra amymone (Ménétriés, 1857) by Scudder (1875: 256), Strecker (1878: 140), and W. H. Edwards (1884: 279).
