Comment:
The presence of this taxon in North America has not yet been published in the literature, but recent communications between C. Erséus (Sweden) and S.V. Fend (California, USA) (and shared with mjw) regarding specimens collected by Fend from the western U.S., suggest that this taxon is present in North America; further study, including 18S rDNA sequencing, is necessary to resolve its differences from Nais variabilis
