Comments: Of all the species of Notomys, N. alexis has the most extensive geographic range (Watts and Aslin, 1981). Variation in sperm head morphology documented by Breed and Sarafis (1983) and its phylogenetic significance discussed by Breed (1997). Studies on sperm storage in vas deferens and comparison with other Notomys provided by Peirce et al. (2003). Digestive tract traits and relation to diet documented by Murray et al. (1994).
