Eschmeyer (personal communication, May 2003) notes that this was "originally as *kröyeri* [not as *kröyerii as in Eschmeyer et al. 1998]; according to Article 32.5.2.1 of the Code, if the name is not based on a German word, the "e" should not be added; correct is apparently *Scopelus kroyeri*"
