Originally described as Ortalida squamata, but Ortalida and Ortalis are considered equivalent for nomenclatural purposes, so under the current International Code of Zoological Nomenclature (ICZN Art. 51.3.1, 1999) authorial parentheses should not be used for this if combined with either generic name
