Munilla & Soler-Membrives (2014:272) note 'El nombre de esta familia estaba también incorrectamente formado. La parte final del nombre del género tipo, Pallenopsis, es la palabra griega opsis (aspecto, apariencia), cuyo genitivo es opseos y, por tanto, su raíz es opse-. Consecuentemente el nombre debiera haber sido conformado como Pallenopseidae y se propondrá a la Comisión su corrección.' Roughly translated, 'The name of this family was also incorrectly formed. The final part of the name of the type genus, Pallenopsis, is the Greek word opsis (appearance, appearance), whose genitive is opseos and, therefore, its root is opse-. Consequently the name should have been conformed as Pallenopseidae and its correction will be proposed to the Commission'
