This taxon was originally described as Naidium simum by Ernesto Marcus (1944); note that there was another person with same last name who also published on oligochaetes in Brasil -- during same period of time - Eveline Du Bois-Reymond Marcus [perhaps? Ernesto Marcus' spouse?]; the original publications need to be located in order to verify their relationship, and more importantly, to verify just what taxa were described by each of them]
