Comments: Rattus rattus species group. Numerous cytogenetic studies focusing on the R. rattus complex, as summarized by Baverstock et al. (1983c), Bekasova and Mezhova (1983), Niethammer (1975), and Yosida (1980), have revealed two basic groups of populations.
