Reboulia hemisphaerica (L.) Raddi is a very complex species with almost cosmopolitan distribution; the recognized varieties are not assigned to parent subspecies pending molecular data to resolve the species' taxonomy (Söderström, von Konrat and Hagborg, pers. comm.)
