Comment:
Sarracenia alabamensis ssp. wherryi was invalidly published by Case & R.B. Case in 1975, and the same taxon was inadvertently validly published as S. rubra subsp. wherryi D.E. Schnell in 1978 (despite intending a new combination). Case's later (2005) attempt to validly publish the original name is to be treated as a new combination of the Schnell name.
