ICZN Article 11.6.1 allows a name first published as a synonym to be available if prior to 1961 it has been treated as available. When Sims and Warren (1955) proposed Treron pompadora griseicauda Bonaparte, 1855, Treron pompadora griseicauda Wallace, 1863 became a junior homonym. The next available name is wallacei Salvadori, 1893
