Comment:
Originally described in the genus Limnodrilus by Michaelsen (1903), this species was later redescribed and placed in the genus Tubifex by Brinkhurst (1962); Hrabe (1966) then placed it in Isochaetides, but this was rebutted by Brinkhurst (1981), who provided justification for maintaining it in Tubifex
