Comment:
According to Staines' online Catalog of the hispines of the World (as of late 2011), Uhmann's initial use of the name Wallacispa (in about 1931) was a nomen nudum, and the genus name was not validated until a 1940 publication. However, all indications suggest the genus and species (Wallacispa tibialis) are both available from the 1931 work, with the species as type by monotypy. The three other species that Staines (1997:419) indicates were also described in Wallacispa were actually described in Wallaceana
