Comments: A close phylogenetic relative of Tryphomys adustus, another Luzon endemic (Musser and Heaney, 1992). Taxonomy and morphological data provided by Musser (1982a), who also reviewed the scanty available ecological information. One of the few Indoaustralian murines to bear a nail-like claw on the hallux instead of a claw
