Boss (1982) included a note in the Mollusca section under Cypraeacea section as follows: "The Ctenosculidae, represented by Ctenosculum hawaiiense, which lives in the body cavity of the echinoderm Brisinga, has sometimes been considered a relative of the lamellariids; A. Warén notes that Ctenosculum is not a mollusk but a crustacean"
