Unresolved primary homonymy is shown by Platnick (2012, online World Spider Catalog v12.5), where both Ctenus pilosus Thorell, 1899 and Ctenus pilosus Franganillo, 1930 are listed as valid species. The latter is a junior primary homonym and includes the comment 'should this species ever prove recognizable, a replacement name will be required'
