X-ray micro-CT reconstruction reveals eight antennomeres in a new fossil taxon that constitutes a sister clade to Dundoxenos and Triozocera (Strepsiptera: Corioxenidae)
Henderickx et al. (2013) place Eocenoxenos close to both Uniclavinae and Triozocerinae, but the subfamily placement is not yet clear. Cook and Tribull (2013) note the following concerns with the subfamily arrangement within the Corioxenidae: 'Pohl and Beutel (2005) subsequently determined that the previous subfamily classifications are likely not representative of monophyletic groups, although some branching events were not well supported in their study. Therefore, the current status of subfamily placement is uncertain and requires further study, including a complete phylogenetic treatment. The most recent checklist to species of Corioxenidae was published by Pohl et al. (1996)'
