Fimbristylis littoralis Gaudich. (TSN 507317) is the accepted name for Scirpus miliaceus L., nom. rej. (TSN 521158), while F. benghalensis (Pers.) Roem. & Schult. (TSN 808462) is not a synonym of Scirpus miliaceus L. but of Scirpus quinquangularis Vahl (TSN 521175). The name Scirpus miliaceus L. was rejected because it was being used in two different senses. Two types side by side in the Linnaean herbarium, both named Scirpus miliaceus, are in fact two different species." (Mark Strong, pers. comm., 2013)
