Comments: Smallest species of Oxymycterus, morphologically resembling O. hucucha but genetically closer to O. paramensis (Hoffmann et al., 2002). Bolivian records originally reported as O. paramensis (Anderson, 1997) and reidentified by Oliveira (in Salazar-Bravo et al., 2002b)
