Eschmeyer (online Catalog of Fishes, 2004) comments on the spelling of Bembrops greyi/greyae, saying "Originally as greyi, but named for a woman, so name most desirably would be grayae. However, that change is not a mandatory one, and the incorrect subsequent spelling greyae apparently has not achieved prevailing usage, so the name greyi can be used"
