Heminothrus carinatus (Banks, 1910) (TSN 736997), originally published in the genus Nothrus, is an unresolved junior secondary homonym of Hermannia carinata Kramer, 1897, which is currently placed under Heminothrus punctatus (Koch, 1879). If the junior name is to remain in the same genus as the senior name, a substitute name would be needed if it is to be recognized as a valid species
