Status: IUCN - Lower Risk (nt) as Otomys sloggetti

Comments: Viewed as closely related to O. unisulcatus (Bohmann, 1952; Roberts, 1951; Taylor et al., 1989; Thomas, 1918b), but details of sperm morphology question the closeness of their relationship (Bernard et al., 1991). Taxonomy, distributional records, and ecology reviewed by Lynch and Watson (1992) and Lynch (1994); karyotypic and genetic data and comparisons supplied by Contrafatto et al. (1992a)
