Broadleaf Coreopsis is a perennial wildflower that forms clumps and belongs to the aster family. It is indigenous to the southern Appalachian region, specifically in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee, thriving in moist, fertile woodlands at middle to lower elevations. This plant can reach heights of up to 4 feet and features oval leaves that can grow as long as 8 inches. Its vibrant yellow flower heads appear in corymbs and typically bloom from July through September. Broadleaf Coreopsis can propagate through rhizomes and is primarily pollinated by bees.
This plant is ideal for use in woodland environments, whether at the edges or within the interior of naturalized forest areas.
