Rosa 'Cornelia' is a robust, medium-sized shrub that produces clusters of highly fragrant, rosette-shaped blooms. These flowers initially display a coppery-apricot hue, which gradually transitions to a coppery-pink as they fully develop. This variety is known for its vigorous growth and features occasional large, hooked thorns. Its foliage consists of dark green, pointed leaves, with the petioles adorned with small prickles.
For optimal growth, plant in fertile, moist, well-drained soil, ideally in full sun or partial shade. Ensure adequate air circulation and regularly clear away fallen leaves to minimize the risk of disease. Pruning should be done lightly, with a reduction of side shoots by one-half to one-third, and you can cut back the plant by up to one-third. For renovation, consider pruning one out of every four or five shoots at the base.
