Creeping Speedwell is a low-growing, evergreen ground cover that reaches heights of up to 5 inches and spreads about 15 inches wide. Its delicate lavender-blue flowers, adorned with dark veins and white centers, create a striking contrast against the rich green foliage. The leaves may exhibit a burgundy tint, particularly during the spring and fall seasons. This plant is resilient, capable of withstanding light foot traffic, and is also tolerant of deer and salt.
For optimal growth, plant it in moist to moderately dry, well-drained soil, ideally in full sun or mostly sunny locations. It serves well as a ground cover, in rock gardens, at the front of borders, or along walkways. After blooming in the spring, it can be pruned back to encourage new growth.
