Comments: Subgenus Akodon, A. boliviensis species group (Hershkovitz, 1990c) or A. cursor species group (Geise et al., 2001). Described as related to A. sanctipaulensis, A. lindberghi, and A. azarae (Hershkovitz, 1998), but gene-sequence data suggest closer affinity to A. cursor-A. montensis (Geise et al., 2001).
