Comment:
The genus name Alcmenoides is feminine, as Miller (1954:49-50) combined it with the adjectival species-group name in feminine form, as Alcmenoides confusa sp. n. (ICZN, 1999:36; Art. 30.1.4.4). Kerzhner (1992:52) indicated this should be corrected to masculine, following the Code in force at the time (ICZN, 1985:30; Art. 30b), but prior editions of the Code have no force (ICZN 1999:97; Art. 86.3), so this is irrelevant
