Chandler (1999) determined that the publicacion date of LaFerté's Monographie des Anthicus is probably May, 1849
Comment:
Originally published as "Anthelephilus imperator," where the generic name is considered to be an unjustified emendation by LaFerté-Sénectère of Anthelephila Hope 1833 (see Kejval, 2003, although Kejval incorrectly then labels it as a "junior synonym of Anthelephila"). See also ICZN Article 51.3.1 on omitting parentheses for authorship
