Comment:
Although Bao et al. (2007) include a number of species in the genus Hagenomyia Banks 1911, Sekimoto (2014:87) states that 'Hagenomyia consists of only one African species at present,' and supplies new combinations in Baliga for the species Bao et al. described in Hagenomyia or transferred into that genus. Although unstated, the clear implication is that the remaining species left in Hagenomyia other than the type (H. tristis (Walker)), should be moved back into Baliga. The affected species are H. brunneipennis Ebsen-Petersen, H. conjuncta Yang, H. eurysticta (Gerstaecker) and H. fuscithoraca Yang
