Comments: Phloeomys Division. A Philippine Old Endemic (Musser and Heaney, 1992). Using morphological data, Musser and Heaney (1992) placed Batomys in the same monophyletic group as Crateromys and Carpomys and among some alternative hypotheses about relationships suggested that Phloeomys may also be a member of this group.
