Comments: Boselaphini includes Boselaphus and Tetraceros; Bovini includes Bison, Bos, Bubalus, Pseudoryx and Syncerus; and Tragelaphini includes Taurotragus and Tragelaphus. Tetracerotidae, as Tetracerotini, has priority over Boselaphini but has only been used since 1899 as junior to Boselaphini so should not replace it (Article 35.5, International Code of Zoological Nomenclature; International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature, 1999).
