Comments: Bunomys fratrorum Group. Recognized as a distinct species in a 'Rattus chrysocomus Group' (Tate, 1936; Ellerman, 1941), then in a 'coelestis group' of Rattus (Ellerman, 1949a), subsequently treated as member of subgenus Rattus (Laurie and Hill, 1954), and currently included in Bunomys (Musser, 1981c; Musser and Newcomb, 1983). In morphology and pelage features, B. andrewsi is most closely related to B. fratrorum of the NW peninsula and B. penitus in the central core and SE peninsula. The ta...
