Comment:
Canariomys Crusafont-Pairo and F. Petter, 1964 is excluded from Mammal Species of the World, 3rd edition (2005) as its two recognized species are fossil (C. bravoi) and long extinct (C. tamarani). The genus is included here only because it was included (with C. tamarani) in the 2nd edition of that volume (1993)
