It appears that the type genus, Carteria Diesing, is placed in Chlamydomonadaceae, so Carteriaceae should be synonymized there. However, it is still in use for Pseudagloë (Pascher) K.I.Meyer in AlgaeBase, so it appears to be in need of resolution
