Comment:
Comments: Originally a subgenus of Georychus; a relationship generally not supported by molecular data (Allard and Honeycutt, 1992; Honeycutt et al., 1991; Janecek et al., 1992; Nevo et al., 1987; Walton et al., 2000), which suggest a sister taxon relationship between Georychus and Bathyergus. This genus has long been problematic because of extreme morphological variation and is in need of further revision
