Comments: Member of the D. incomtus species complex, and diagnosed by multivariate analyses of craniodental measurements and complete mtDNA cytochrome b sequences relative to examples of D. alleni and D. bentleyae (W.Verheyen et al., 2003). Specimens from mountains to the south in W Burundi are not D. rwandae but D. bentleyae judged from craniometric data
