Euptychia Hübner, 1818 is a valid butterfly genus, but apparently the name has been used by some authors in a way that corresponds to another genus (through misapplication or misidentification). ITIS does not normally record such misuses (this name record came to ITIS from the National Oceanographic Data Center's NODC Taxonomic Code v8)
