Comment:
Stephen & Edmonds (1972:107) treated Golfingia rugosa mauritaniensis (Sluiter 1913) as valid. Cutler & Cutler (1987:751-752) synonymized Phascolosoma rugosum Souther 1913 (and G. rugosa) under G. iniqua (Sluiter 1912), but treated P. rugosum var. mauritaniense Hérubel 1925 differently. They placed it "in incertae sedis since the description [...] is extremely brief, there are no illustrations, the type cannot be located, and the habitat [...] is atypical." Cutler (1994:70 & 383) did likewise
