Amin (2013:289) follows the treatment of Bhattacharya (2007:112) and mistakenly adopts the authorship error ('Anthony et al.'), but mistakenly places the species in Gorgorhynchus, as the 2007 work placed it in Gorgorhynchoides, and mistakenly spells the epithet 'valiyanthurae.' The correct name following Bhattacharya (2007) would be Gorgorhynchoides valiyathurae (Nadakal, John and Jacob, 1990)
