Placement of Hadromychus Bousquet and Leschen 2002 seems to be uncertain. The original description placed it in Epipocinae, and noted it was likely the sister group to Danascelis Tomaszewka 1999. But by then Danascelis was placed in a new subfamily of its own, Danascelinae Tomaszewka 2000 (a paper which is mentioned briefly in a "note added in proof" at the end of Bousquet & Leschen's work). Tomaszewka (2005) continues to classify Hadromychus within the Danascelinae, however
