Note that Brölemann clearly spelled the name using the 'ae' ligature, not the 'oe' ligature (both in the text on p. 273, and in the text for plate 1; there is no corrigendum included in the volume, either). Therefore, the 'correct original spelling' per the ICZN must be caeculus and not coeculus, which must be treated as a subsequent literature misspelling. Bonato et al. (2011:373-374) listed the correct -ae- spelling, although many works erred on this. Note also that the name was published in volume 35 (with introductory remarks dated 25 March 1888), not volume 36, so it appears to have been published in 1888 rather than 1889
